Front Load Drivers
A front load driver is a commercial driver responsible for operating a large truck equipped with a front-loading mechanism to collect waste from residential and commercial customers along a designated route, transporting it to a disposal facility, while adhering to safety regulations and maintaining good customer service interactions; essentially, they drive a garbage truck with a front-end loader to pick up trash from assigned areas.
Key responsibilities:
- Vehicle operation:
Safely operate a front-end loader truck on assigned routes, including maneuvering to access collection points and properly lifting and dumping waste containers.
- Route adherence:
Follow pre-determined routes to service customers according to schedule and ensure all designated stops are serviced.
- Customer interaction:
Interact professionally with customers, addressing any concerns regarding waste collection and following company policies regarding container placement.
- Vehicle inspection:
Conduct pre- and post-shift inspections to check for mechanical issues, fluid levels, and safety equipment functionality.
- Waste collection:
Properly lift and empty waste containers into the truck, identifying and reporting any issues with containers or waste materials.
- Compliance:
Adhere to all DOT regulations, company safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Paperwork:
Complete required documentation including route sheets, daily logs, and incident reports.
Required qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
- Experience operating heavy-duty vehicles
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety procedures
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy waste containers
- Good customer service skills
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions
Pay & Benefits
- Non CDL positions start at $13-$16/hr
- CDL A or B positions start at $17-$22/hr
- We offer a minimum of 50 hours a week and up from there
- 1 week of PTO after 1 year, 2 weeks of PTO after 3 years
- We provide company Health insurance and match our employees by paying half of the cost of their insurance after 1 year of employment
- $10,000 burial policy on any employee hired to benefit their family
